Many of us who are inspired by Strong Towns are also excited to collaborate with our city government to strengthen our communities. We enjoy working in partnership with city planners, commissioners, councilmembers, consultants, and staff...and some may even grow to formally serve the public through any of these roles!
If you are one of these emerging leaders, we hope you will connect with us and seek to learn more from our resources!
Strong WA also seeks to help cities across the state "build the bench" of future community leaders who are inspired, connected, and knowledgeable on how to most effectively and sustainably co-create your city.
These are just a few of the local leaders across WA who have been inspired by Strong Towns:
Local Officials
Nick Coelho, City Councilmember, City of Lynnwood
Spencer Gardner, Planning Director, City of Spokane
Kate Moran, City Councilmember, City of West Richland
Rodney Rutherford, Planning Commissioner, City of Kirkland
Mason Thompson, Mayor, City of Bothell
Robert Vanderpool, City Councilmember, City of Olympia
Cary Westerbeck, Planning Commissioner, City of Bothell
Organizers of Local Conversations
Paul Dutton, Strong Towns Renton
Contact us at info@StrongWA.org if you know of others who would like to be added to this list!
Strong WA seeks to collaborate with a variety of organizations to grow local leaders, including:
Planning Officials Development Committee of the Washington Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA WA)
If you are connected with one of these organizations (or if you are part of another non-partisan organization that is interested in the development of local leaders) please connect with us at info@StrongWA.org.
